Carnet de Rami

The player who went out scores 0. The others count the cards left in hand: 2 to 10 at face value, face cards 10, aces 11, jokers 20. A player who hasn’t laid anything down yet scores 100. Going rummy (going out before anyone else has laid down): 200 for each opponent. These are the “rami classique” rules of the French card maker Ducale.

When you create the game, at the Target step, pick the common variants: aces at 1, jokers at 25 or 50, going rummy doubles the points (×4 when finishing on a joker), or no going rummy. The score sheet then reminds everyone of the table rules.

The first player to reach 500 points loses: the game ends after that round and the lowest total wins. Ties share the win. You can also play to 1,000 points, or set your own target.

An opening meld needs at least 51 points including a pure run, so at least 5 cards. A player whose cards are counted has already laid down, so they hold 8 cards at most. If they haven’t laid anything down yet, tap “Nothing laid”: they score 100.

The rules don’t say. The app draws the first dealer at random (you can also pick one), then the deal passes left every round, and the player on the dealer’s left goes first. The score sheet reminds you.

In the game, tap “…” then “Correct a round”. Once the game is over, tap the round right on the score sheet. Totals and standings are recalculated.

Tap “…” then “Manage players”. A new player starts with the highest total at the table, so they get no head start (in rummy, the lowest total wins). A player who leaves keeps their rounds in the history but drops out of the game’s standings.

Check Settings › Carnet de Rami › Live Activities. The game shows while a game in progress is open in the app, and disappears when you pause it.

Only on your iPhone. They don’t sync between devices, and deleting the app erases them. See the privacy policy.

A one-time purchase, no subscription, that unlocks the all-time leaderboard (wins, average per round, consistency, rummies, table titles and records) and a profile for every player (form, rounds won, rummies, head-to-heads and records). Everything else in the app is free. The purchase is shared with your family (Family Sharing).

Tap the trophy or Settings › Carnet de Rami+, then “Restore Purchases”: the purchase comes back with your Apple Account, at no extra cost. Your games are not transferred.
